We're celebrating Women's History Month by shining a spotlight on some of the inspiring female founders we know who are changing lives with their purpose-driven businesses. This week we’re featuring Sara Lindström, a Photographer, Creative Coach, and Retreat Leader based in Sweden.
The impact of Sara's solopreneur journey is a powerful reminder that our influence as individuals can have an immeasurable ripple effect far beyond what we see. By helping others explore their truest selves and tap into their own creativity, Sara empowers women to show up as their most authentic selves in the world. And when people feel seen, inspired, and supported, they naturally tend to channel their strengths and passions towards doing good—whether that's through their work, their art, or simply their interactions with others. In this way, Sara's work doesn't just transform individuals, it transforms the world around them, too.
I met Sara while in search of an accountability partner to help navigate the roller coaster of entrepreneurship. Admittedly, I was a bit too early in my business at that point, as I was still in the trenches of caring for and eventually losing two family members, plus working a 9-5. But despite my extremely slow, often directionless week-over-week progress, Sara showed up with warmth, inspiration, and a shared belief that the universe brings us exactly what we need, when we need it. We met regularly to exchange ideas, boost each other’s spirits, and celebrate even the smallest wins. As someone who's experienced her creative intuition and warm nature firsthand, it's obvious to me that her path has led her to become the leader and coach she is today.
Sara’s entrepreneurial journey began as a way to merge her two great loves: travel and adventure photography. While this allowed her to sustain a more free, nomadic lifestyle exploring the world’s most beautiful landscapes, she eventually felt a calling to explore deeper meaning and purpose in her work. While she still captures award-winning imagery for clients around the world, her mission today is to help women dive deeper into their own creative potential, in order to truly go after the life of their dreams.
This is the main reason I wanted to highlight Sara this month—her work creates space, time, and guidance for women to focus on themselves. So many passionate, purpose-driven female founders I work with are so focused on serving others that they forget to give back to themselves. She invites women to explore the world around them—and the world within themselves—through wilderness retreats, immersive photo workshops, coaching sessions, and privately guided photo adventures in her arctic backyard.
Sara’s advice for other female entrepreneurs is simple, yet powerful:
“Believe in yourself. If you can dream it, you can have it, seriously! And if you can’t get yourself to believe in you, find others who do. Take a good look at the people around you and make a conscious decision to surround yourself with those who empower and uplift you, while minimizing interaction with the rest. And if you have the means, invest in a coach or mentor.”
This September Sara is hosting a new women’s retreat in Arctic Sweden, which she describes as a soulful invitation for women to go deeper into the wild, unlock their creativity, and discover their dreams. Set amongst beautiful mountain ranges and forests in the place she calls home, she believes this will be her most special endeavor yet.
As a purpose-driven founder, connecting with nature and myself has played a vital role in my own life and entrepreneurial journey. I've also experienced the transformational power Sara wields, and I believe the impact she has through creating a supportive, nurturing environment, especially in an inspiring atmosphere, can serve as a truly powerful catalyst for positive change. If you aspire to do more good in the world, to tap into your own creativity, or discover your own purpose, check out Sara's retreats, or at the very least check out her award-winning photography on social media. Inspiration is guaranteed.
