"Where do I begin?"
Start with a Purpose Plan.

After a brief intro call to ensure we're a good fit, most new clients will start with a Purpose Plan. 

​

A Purpose Plan is our way of getting to know you and your brand inside and out, so that we're 100% aligned on strategy and direction before a single word lands on the page.​ It starts with a 90-minute deep dive into your brand's history, vision, challenges, and goals. Less than a week later, you'll receive your Purpose Plan: a customized roadmap tailored to your business needs, outlining key opportunities to help you reach your goals with clarity and confidence.

​​The Purpose Plan is $1,000, with 5% ($50) going back to a community or organization of your choice. You'll be able to take the plan to implement on your own, or hire us to help you bring it to life—in which case the $1,000 will go towards any additional services.

We're always happy to answer any questions via call or email, but here are answers to some of the more common questions we are asked.

How does your 5% giveback work?

We trust that each client knows how their money will go the furthest in the communities they work with, support, and empower. That's why we leave it up to each client to decide just where that donation will go. We encourage each client to be creative and think outside of an ordinary monetary donation in favor of something more unique and impactful, if possible.

What have others done with their giveback?

We've donated to local schools, helped fund public art programs, bought meals for impoverished teenagers, awarded students in a college film contest, and made monetary donations to both local and national nonprofits. If needed, we're always happy to help provide ideas on how your money can go even further in your community.

Everyone is selling something on the internet these days. Why should I trust Goodera?

Goodera was founded by me, Kim Merritt. I have a BFA in Advertising from the School of Visual Arts in New York City, have 15+ years of experience working at boutique and global agencies throughout New York, London, and Los Angeles, and have helped my teams win 11 awards. Plus, our two-step Goodera process is designed to deliver the same big-agency thinking at a fraction of the cost, and with little risk for misalignment. First we'll connect via a quick call to ensure that we can help address your needs before any money is ever exchanged. Then, the 90-minute Purpose Plan call serves to ensure we have a deep understanding or your business, and also that we are aligned before moving forward with any executions. We want you to feel comfortable and confident every step of the way, and will work to ensure this is the case.

What sets you apart from other creative agencies and copywriting studios?

Given our 15+ years of agency experience, we like to say that we provide big-agency thinking without the big-agency price tag. All of our work is rooted in one question: "why?" ensuring that everything we do serves a business purpose and provides immense value. We also give back 5% of each invoice to a community or organization of each client's choosing, so just by working with us you'll be able to further help support your people. We also share a deep passion for supporting brands who are making things better for people and the planet, and want to see them succeed. We always strive to connect like-hearted people and help in whatever way we can.

What industries or types of businesses do you specialize in? 

Our clients mostly fall within the outdoors, travel, apparel, and food and beverage categories, as well as service providers. But rather than focusing on specific industries, we work with clients who share common values, typically when it comes to things like protecting the environment, supporting human rights, and empowering women. Regardless of the industry, all of our clients share a common goal: to make things better for people and/or the planet.

Can you tell me more about your process?

Our process was created intentionally to ensure a deeper understanding of your brand, and to provide greater value, quicker timelines, and fewer revisions. Every project starts with a 90-minute call. From there, you'll receive a written brief outlining our unique approach for moving forward (your Purpose Plan). From there, you'll have the choice to take that plan and either implement on your own, or keep working with us to execute it for you. If we do move forward together, the cost of your Purpose Plan will be applied towards your final deliverable.

I don’t have an in-house team in place to execute any work, is this something you help with?

Our services are designed for small businesses to be able to execute without a full-blown marketing team or production crew. However, we do have an extensive network where we regularly make referrals or build a team and oversee creative production, depending on the need.

Can you provide examples of your past work or case studies?

After shifting from the corporate world, building the Goodera portfolio is still a work in progress. Most of the work we do is internal and confidential. But we're always happy to jump on a call and talk about some of the work we’ve done for our clients and how it has helped them, and answer any specific questions you may have.

What is the expected timeline for project delivery?

When we book time with you, our goal is to give you the time and attention you deserve, while delivering your product as soon as is reasonable to do quality work. When you book a Purpose Plan session, the call itself will take 90 minutes to complete, and you'll receive the written plan within 3-4 business days. Any package work beyond this will depend on the scope of work.

How many rounds of revisions are included in the project price?

Our two-step process is intentionally set up to avoid major revisions. By starting with our 90-minute call, we get a deep understanding of everything we need to know about your business. From there we deliver the Purpose Plan, which is when you will provide any feedback before we move forward. Upon sign-off of the Purpose Plan, we'll execute the final deliverable, allowing for one additional round of revision if necessary. To clarify, revisions at this point mean feedback to help us better align and answer the agreed upon brief outlined in the Purpose Plan. Feedback based on new information that changes the project would require a re-brief, and additional payment.

As a client, what level of involvement do you expect from me during the project?

Some clients love to collaborate, others are more hands off. But our process is designed to get you exactly what you need with as little time as possible on your end. The initial interview is the most time-consuming, as it takes about 90 minutes to complete. You do not need to prepare, you simply need to show up and answer our questions openly and honestly. From there, we will book another hour meeting to present our Purpose Plan to you, allowing time for questions. When executing deliverables beyond the Purpose Plan, we will already have everything we need to know, and will only require one additional hour of your time to present and discuss the final product. All in we’re looking at about 3.5 hours of your time over the course of a few weeks. Should you need additional assistance, we are always willing to connect further (within reason), but please understand that we may need to charge extra for larger asks.

Do you offer any guarantees or refunds if I'm not satisfied with the results?

We do not offer refunds unless we have to cancel for our own fault. That's why we’ve implemented a two-step process, to ensure you feel confident in our approach at the end of step one—with a smaller financial commitment—before moving on to step two. However, we want to ensure you are satisfied, and will work with you to make sure you feel confident in the work that was provided. If you’re not happy, let us know and we’ll work with you to make it right.

I’m just starting out and don’t have a ton of budget yet. Can we still work together?

Do you offer ongoing support or maintenance after the project is complete?

Of course we are always around to provide a quick gut check, a point of view, or to answer any questions we can. But additional creative work will result in additional fees, which will be discussed at the time of inquiry.

When is payment due?

Payment for the Purpose Plan is due up front before we conduct the 90-minute call. This two-step process is designed to give you a feel for what it's like to work with us, before giving you the chance to either walk away with a tangible plan full of actionable next steps, or move forward in hiring us to execute it for you. Should you chose to move forward with us, the initial cost of the $1,000 Purpose Plan will be applied towards the full project, in which you will receive additional invoices. The remaining balance will be due half up front, and half upon project completion.
